What all you’ll need?
You would be needing the following ingredients to make the DIY mask:
- 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel
- 1 tablespoon of honey
It is always good if you use freshly extracted aloe vera gel when making this DIY mask. You can buy the gel online but try going for the one which involves no colours or artificial scents.
As for the honey, go for organic, raw honey as, unlike the processed honey, it won’t rash or irritate your skin in any manner. Raw honey will actually heal and soothe your skin in a better way.
How to make and use it?
To make this honey and aloe vera mask, all you need to do is blend both the components properly in a bowl. Once you have a ceramic and smooth paste, just wash your face with a mild cleanser and a bit of warm water.
Later, wipe your face gently and put on a thin layer of the aloe vera and honey mask. You can put up another layer again as soon as your skin starts absorbing the mask properly.
Let the mask on for about 20-35 minutes, and then wash it off properly using gentle warm water. Put on any face moisturizing cream when your skin is quite damp. This would lock the moisture in the skin and make your skin look bright and refreshing.
As for the leftover paste, you can use it later. Just shift it to a glass beaker or a container and store it in your fridge and use it whenever you like.
Customizations you can add
Though the two components – honey and aloe vera are perfect in their own way to make your skin look bright and hydrating, you can put in a few more add-ons according to your skin types and needs. Let us take a look at what more could be added to this honey and aloe vera mask.
- For dry skin: Add about one teaspoon of natural oils like olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil, cocoa butter, or shea butter to the paste.
- For oily skin: Simply squeeze a lemon about 1 teaspoon and add it to the paste.
- For aging skin: Put in 3-4 drops of Vitamin E or about 1 teaspoon of freshly extracted orange juice to the mask paste.
- For sensitive skin: Add about 1 teaspoon of oat flour to the paste.
- For an uneven skin complexion: Go for about 1 teaspoon green tea powder and mix it in the paste you made.
Now that you know how to make this DIY aloe vera and honey mask with or without the customizations, just try it out and enjoy healthy, radiant, and bright skin all year long!
